Methodology: how Fee Watch sources entries
How we find, verify, label and update fee, assessment and millage entries.
Sourcing rules
- Every entry links at least one source: an official government document or page, or a named news report.
- We never estimate or invent a fee. If we cannot source it, it is not listed.
- Pages with nothing found say "No adopted changes tracked yet."
Status labels
- Watching: a government has published impacts but no specific proposal.
- Discussed: an option raised in a meeting, report or interview.
- Proposed: on an agenda or in a TRIM notice.
- Adopted: approved by vote, with the adopting document linked.
Data sources
- Florida DOR Property Tax Data Portal
- DOR TRIM maximum millage and TRIM forms (DR-420, DR-422, DR-487)
- Florida TaxWatch resource center (county loss estimates from the Revenue Estimating Conference)
- County and city agendas, minutes and budget documents
Corrections
If an entry is wrong or out of date, we correct it and note the change date.
